Written political opinion has been shared since humans could write! The internet has allowed bloggers a place to put their view on the world for everyone to see.  Most would classify my opinion as moderate libertarian.  I believe that government should be as small as possible while ensuring individual’s rights and freedoms.

How Does this Quote from The Fountainhead Make you Feel?

After way too long I finally finished The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.  It took me forever since I only really read when on vacation, and the book clocks in at over 700 pages.  I really liked the book and plan on re-reading it one day, but closing in on the last 100 pages or so I came across a diatribe by the main character, Howard Roark that I felt should be shared. Howard Roark Talks about Government Housing Projects A little background about the lengthy quote: In this 'scene' one main character Howard Roark, an architect, is talking to another main character, [...]

Evan Provides An Easy Fix to Illegal Immigration

I think I have an easy and constitutional fix to the illegal immigration problem.  I have had this idea for years, but it recently came up when discussing Arizona’s New Law. If you haven’t been following, Arizona just passed a law that requires, police to determine whether a person is in the United States legally. It also requires immigrants to carry their alien registration documents at all times and requires police to question people if there is reason to suspect they're in the United States illegally. If I had to venture a guess, I would guess that this law will eventually be found unconstitutional; [...]

Explanation of Health Care Bill in Time Line Form

I really wanted to stay out of the health care debate (obviously beyond discussing the Constitutionality of the Health Care Bill)  but I came across this really cool graphical time line of the Bill that I thought people would like. It is from a 3rd Party that I have no affiliate with, who obviously created it to get links, but whatever it is cool nonetheless: Infographic by HealthInsuranceProviders.com: Compare health insurance options from many different providers!

Is the Health Care Bill Constitutional?

The Country is going nuts with the recently passed health care passage.  If you have read ANY of my political posts before you could only imagine how much this bill makes me sick, literally it is a feeling of lost like the Country is taking a piss poor turn.  But beyond personal feelings I question the legality and constitutionality of this particular bill. Two of my favorite bloggers wrote up great reviews of the issue from opposing sides.  I will throw it out there right now, I do not agree with Financial Samurai, while I think Darwin sums it amazing: Darwin’s Finance – [...]

What is the Middle Class Task Force and Who is on it?

I never knew until today that the Obama Administration, in his/their infinite wisdom, created The Middle Class Task Force.  According to the White House the Middle Class Task Force’s main initiative is to, [raise]the living standards of middle-class, working families in America. With specific goals of, Expanding education and lifelong training opportunities Improving work and family balance Restoring labor standards, including workplace safety Helping to protect middle-class and working-family incomes Protecting retirement security Wow, those are some hardcore goals, that are probably better suited...for I don't know...THE GOVERNMENT AS A WHOLE! Regardless, of the stupidity that this group was going to look [...]
