I don't know about your personal situation as it relates to your budget, family dynamics, etc., but in the end I feel the government isn't there to make sure you retire at the magical age of 65...it is a political ideology that I feel strongly about. That being said, we have the current safety nets in place so you'll receive something from social security and medicaid (if you qualfy) Your situation is one of many many people in this country, but I don't agree that you worked "harder" than most Americans simply because it is near impossible to determine what harder means.

I think I do deserve to be able to retire at some point. I certainly think I have worked harder than most Americans. How much do you expect me to save at minimum wage?
