This past weekend as a busy weekend! Starting Thursday The Wife’s family, started coming into town for The Son’s Christening. I think I have mentioned it before, but I am Greek Orthodox (No, I don’t speak the language but wish I did AND No, I don’t know what the hell they are doing over there). In the Greek Orthodox religion Christenings are a big deal, and we had about 75 guests at a restaurant…which The Father kept reminding me was a small one. Oh he did the same thing when I only had 200 or so people at my wedding. Damn New York Greeks.
Regardless, the day was amazing, and The Son was as happy as could be.
Look at that face! and that was after literally being dunked in a pool of oil and water.
My First Father’s Day
The following day The Wife, The Son and I went to Church since The Son is supposed to receive Communion 2 more times after the Christening. The Mom and The Pops were there so they got to parade the kid around like he is a trophy lol.
Afterward The Wife asked what I wanted to do, and since I took her to a picnic for Mother’s day…I thought what is the male equivalent…Beer Gardens! It is like an outdoor German restaurant. I had one beer and some food before The Son decided it was about time to shit himself. I mean literally! It escaped the confines of the diaper. We left shortly thereafter with a shirtless, smelly baby.
After sitting in Sunday-Holiday Long Island traffic to get home we chilled for a bit and then went to The Mom and The Pops’ house for a dinner-bbq. Overall an amazing weekend.
Father Day Thank Yous

June’s Love Drop

Hey guys! The Love Drop team is at it again! Last month they gave over $9,200 worth of cash, goods and services to their recipient, the Stalnaker family, who had been going through a financially hard time due to the effects of the BP oil spill on the Louisiana economy. The family was in need of a car and the Love Drop team was able to surprise them with one, making it one of the most exciting Love Drops ever. You can watch how it all went down here.

This month they rally behind the Aubins – a Michigan mother and her three children who are mourning the death of Keith, husband and father, after his lengthy battle with multiple health problems. Our goal is to raise at least $3,600 to pay the family’s rent for three months, which will allow them to focus on what they need to during this time, without fear of losing their home. Additionally, since Keith was an organ donor, he leaves a powerful legacy and the Love Drop team hopes to raise awareness of organ donation this month to honor Keith’s memory. Help us make this month special for the Aubins!

Congrats on your first Father’s Day. Too bad duty called during the beer garden. I have really been enjoying your posts lately, keep up the awesome work. It’s inspiring that being a father hasn’t slowed you down from your blogging.
