J. Money from Budgets are Sexy has teamed up with his buddy named, Nate St. Pierre to create an amazing project called “Love Drop.” Love Drop is a micro-giving network of people who unite as a community to help one person or family a month. By subscribing to the team for as low as $1, they make it easy for their members to change lives in a fun and tangible way.
Each month Love Drop delivers a unique combination of unexpected financial gifts, personal encouragement and the support of local and online communities. At the end of every month, Nate and J$ show up in the town the people live in to deliver this pile of goodness. The money, the gifts, the services, everything! It’s all on film, and it all ends with an amazing outpouring of love. And then it starts all over again the next month. Help them, and their flagship partner, Kona Grill, make this drop in Chicago amazing! I haven’t heard of Kona Grill before, anyone know anything about it?
This moth Love Drop has chosen to help out Jill. Listen to a piece of her Story:
How You Can Help
This project is all about coming up with creative and fun ways to make a difference for someone. Here’s what you can do to make our first Love Drop special for Jill and her family:
- Join the team – Become a member by paying whatever you want. Even $1.00.
- Join our blogger network – Blog about our Love Drops once a month! It’s easy, it’s rewarding, and it REALLY helps spread the word (which in turn helps the families!). Love Drop will give you all the content you need.
- Give a gift or provide a service – Gift cards, household goods, football cards/jerseys for the boys, web design services, pampering gifts for Jill, etc. (email all ideas/questions to team (at) lovedrop.us, and we’ll make it happen).

Cool.. what a great idea to give back. I saw this on Budgets are sexy’s sight earlier.
I didn’t realize they would be going to visit people in person, so they might be traveling all across the united states then? That is amazing
It’s a cool idea, isn’t it? I think I mentioned this less than a month ago but like the once-a-month scheme and will try to do that, too.
Kona Grill is a chain of moderately expensive restaurants that serves Cuban drinks and ersatz Asian food on the high side of OK. There’s one in Scottsdale’s most upscale large mall. Not a place I’d go out of my way to eat in…but then, there aren’t many restaurants that would lure me out of my way.
OOOO Cuban Drinks? DO they rock out mohijtos?
Apparently they have every kind of mojito known to personkind!
Very nice. Here is a somewhat similar idea, that I like: http://www.globalgiving.org/
It is a bit different because it doesn’t target one person, but I still like it. You can support projects like
“APOPO’s trained HeroRATs are saving lives and limbs, by using their exceptional sense of smell to sniff out unexploded landmines and tuberculosis.”
“Provide early education, breakfast, child care and psychological services for 455 disadvantaged preschoolers in the México City Metro Area whose working parents cannot afford these services otherwise.”
I think the difference between global giving and Love drop is that I have been reading J$’s stuff for what seems like a year or two. It is cool to see him branch out!
Thx for spreading the word, yo! We’re really getting a TON of support and it’s freakin’ awesome. The more people sharing it around, the more we can give back to Jill and her family! She’s beyond blown away already. And we haven’t even surprised her with some of the stuff yet. W00T.
My pleasure buddy!
Sounds like a great idea. Can’t wait to get involved.
What a wonderful idea! It is amazing what people can do for each other~
This is a really interesting concept. Look forward to seeing how Love Drop makes out over time!
This is a good idea, People in the community helping other people in the community. I see this in the community where I teach.
